AB 167 (Sub-No. 1189X) · CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION--ABANDONMENT EXEMPTION--IN HUDSON COUNTY, N.J.

Comment EI-17103

Received or sent (printed as 4/6/2009)

As a 30 year resident of Jersey City, I urge the Board not to support the demolition of the 6th Street Embankment in downtown Jersey City. The embankment has become a natural habitat that supports wildlife; demolishing the embankment would be detrimental to the neighborhood. Development of the site would add density and traffic to the neighborhood; we have endured enough development and deserve some relief! Conrail has been very negligent regarding their property. The Embankment should be preserved for historical, environmental and planning reasons.
