AB 167 (Sub-No. 1189X) · CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION--ABANDONMENT EXEMPTION--IN HUDSON COUNTY, N.J.

Comment EI-17091

Received or sent (printed as 4/6/2009)

My Name is Roman Faizov: I have visited Jersey City and seen the Embankment which runs through the old historic neighborhoods. To allow this monumental embankment to be demolished will damage the surrounding area in many ways. To give up something that is a rail right-of-way into the center of an overbuilt, super-dense urban area is totally insane. This could and should be used for public transport, if not now at sometime in the future. In any event, it is inconceivable that you have not done a FULL environmental impact study when so many people will be effected by this event. Please do the right thing. Conduct a full study so that all issues and dangers to the residents are fully undestood before you give a permit to Conrail.
