Dear Mr., I am a current resident of Jersey City who is extremely concerned about the consequences my neighborhood will face if Conrail is granted permission to demolish the Embankment. I am begging the Federal Government to enforce the federal law, specifically the Environmental Policy Act that requires federal agencies to prepare Environmental Impact Statements for major federal actions that can have detrimental effects on the human environment. For example, by demolishing this historic site, many contaminants will be released into the water system burdening the sewers. Migratory birds and monarch butterflies will lose their safe haven. And, a cultural symbol will be lost for the Holy Rosary historic festival and Italian community. These are just a few of the consequences. Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement to help ease the burden of our local government and citizens. Thank you, Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung
