An Environmental Impact Statement for the 6th Street Harsimus Stem Embankment is essential for the wellbeing of the surrounding community. The site is on every major list of preservation from the Jersey City's Landmarks Conservancy, Hudson County's Open Space Plan, New Jersey's Historic List and listed in the Federal EPA's Priority Acquisition and Restoration Sites. On top of all of that it is listed in the regional East Coast Greenway Plan. These are just a few of the issues that need to be looked at more closely as part of the EIS that should be performed.
