I have lived in Jersey City for nearly 12 years. The lack of open green space is sad and the over building of now unsellable condo buildings in potential green space is a travesty. Local elementary public schools don't even have outdoor playgrounds! I also graduated from the Historic Preservation program at Columbia Univ. that first helped to identify the historic neighborhoods in downtown that became the current districts. These historic designations have done so much for the community - retaining character, home values, and local economics. Please, please take a look at the Embankment Park option as these could have as much if not even more impact on the quality of life for Jersey City residents now and in the future on many, many levels. Please respect the City and not let developers run how the future of the city unfolds. These historically significant embankments that played such a historic role in the history of JC and the region shipping corridor should at least be honored by a full and fact-based Environmental Impact Study of the entire Harsimus Branch.
