I am writing to respectfully request that the Surface Transportation Board require an Evironmental Impact Statement for the Harsimus Branch Embankment. My wife and two kids and I live across the street from the embankment. We think it's beautiful; its magnificence is a big part of why we bought our apartment. But that's beside the point here. I am deeply disturbed by the idea that the STB thinks the community does not have a right to know what's in there. Absent a thorough and expert evaluation, there is not a chance that I would stay in my apartment while the embankment was dismantled. I would not risk my kids' health. The destruction of the embankment would be a horror and a shame for our neighborhood on so many levels. But nothing is as important for me as the health risk to my family. I'm counting on all government entities, including the Surface Transportation Board, to look out for us. Thank you for your consideration. Daniel Ferrara
