I own a house less than a block from the Embankment in downtown Jersey City, and I want to encourage you to do a full environmental impact study of the Harsimus Branch. Development and/or demolition of the Embankment would significantly affect the quality of the surrounding environment, and a full study should be done to assess the impact before any actions are taken. I personally hate the idea of demolishing or the embankment. Aside from the disruption and damage that would cause to the surrounding neighborhood, our area already has plenty of residential and commercial development. What we need is more green space, and I think any future plans should preserve and develop the Embankment for that purpose.
