Comment EI-16965

Received or sent (printed as 4/6/2009)

I write in concern and care for the preservation of the embankment in Harsimus, Jersey City. I write with concern that this business be conducted within the proper legal boundaries, with care for our historical preservation, and responsibility toward our living environment. Demolition of the embankment and the development of high rise buildings will seriously lower the original historic quality of our neighborhood, and thereby lower property values. It is the historic quality along with the proximity to the PATH train that sustains property values here. In addition, such high rise buildings will seriously diminish the available natural light in our neighborhood, the wildlife, and the natural environment which is more and more important to preserve as the neighborhood grows more populated and urban. PLEASE CONDUCT A FULL ENVIRONMENT STUDY. Thank you.
