I demand that the STB do a full Environmental Impact Statement before issuing the abandonment permit for the Harsimus Stem Line. As it is very likely that the abandonment of this line will lead directly to the demolition of the landmarked Embankment structure and since that will have severe impacts on the built, cultural and natural environment of the surrounding neighborhoods you are duty-bound to make sure that all of the facts are studied thoroughly so that the next owner's responsbility to remediate or ensure the safety of the public is clear and documented."
