Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to Jersey City historic districts, landmarks, neighborhoods, and families. Abandonment of the site will lead directly to demolition of the embankment, which will have severe effects---releasing contaminants into the surrounding neighborhoods through dust, disrupting a historic residential neighborhood with heavy truck traffic with possible damage to foundations of surrounding buildings, removal of one of the last habitats for wildlife in downtown Jersey City, and eliminating the potential for grade-separated transportation possibilities for future development.
