Before reaching a decision on the Harsimus Branch Embankment, an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) needs to be done. Abandonment of the embankments would lead to their demolition. This is unacceptable. Demolition of the embankments would be harmful to the residents of this part of Jersey City. Demolition of such large structures could lead to vibrational damage to surrounding structures and roads, not to mention the harmful dust which would cloud a densely populated residential area.
