My name is Alice Troietto. I own a restaurant on 4th Street only 3 blocks from the Embankment. I also live on 8th Street only two blocks from the Embankment. I have two daughters and I will tell you that I am very concerned that you are not doing your job to protect us. How can you not do a full Environmental Impact Statement when your allowing Conrail to sell the Embankment to be torn down will effect so many people. The Embankment should be a park and the whole community was looking forward to having the East Coast Greenway bring tourists to our area to help our business. If this Embankment is torn down there will be rats and contamination and many bad things happening in our neighborhood. Today the sewers back up whenever it rains on 6th Street. If you tear down the Embankment there will be more floods and sewage. This is bad for people’s health and it is bad for business near the Embankment. Please do your job as a government agency and make sure that a true EIS study is done to protect our city and our families. Alice Troietto.
