Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to Jersey City historic districts, landmarks, neighborhoods and families. Abandonment will lead directly to demolition of the embankment. The results could prove disastrous to the area, with a significant decrease in air quality, an increase in dust and noice. Vibrations may cause foundation damage to historical homes. There is a probablity of release of contaminants. This may impact the Holy Rosary Historic Festival and other neighborhood cultural traditions. Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement.
