Comment EI-16813

Received or sent (printed as 4/5/2009)

I am writing to support the preservation of the 6th Street Embankment. I heard that a developer has submitted a request to tear it down and we want a full environmental study done before any consideration of demolition is reviewed. We all have children and the environmental impact of tearing down a former railroad embankment -- releasing potentially hazardous contaminants and dust in the middle of our neighborhoods – cannot be ignored. I am worried about my children getting asthma or other ailments if this developer is allowed to tear this structure down without regard for the environmental affect. Please keep the thoughts of the local residents in mind before action is taken. Regards, Libra Balian
