STB should authorize a full environmental study of the Harsimus Branch/Pennsylvania Railroad Sixth Street Embankment. In this time of increasingly shrinking green spaces in urban areas, the fate of the Embankment becomes even more important. The right of way that Conrail is abandoning also includes a cemetery that is Revolutionary War and War of 1812 historic site as well as a historic burial place for Jersey City families. A full environmental impact study for the whole right of way should help decision makers make good choices about this important corridor.
