I want a full environmental study of the entire Harsimus Branch. I live right across the street with my 4 year old and husband and fear the environmental hazards that would be unearthed with the demolition of the Harsimus Stem Embankment. We know the Embankment was once a railway -- what oils and other hazards are beneath the soil could pose a serious environmental threat. This is a dense, residential neighborhood -- unearthing hazardous materials would have a devastating effect. We need to know what's in the soil before any consideration is given to demolish the Embankment!
