Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement of the Harsimus Branch in Jersey City before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to Jersey City historic districts, landmarks, neighborhoods, and families. STB should authorize this study so decisionmakers have the best information available to them Abandonment will lead directly to demolition (Conrail and partner are seeking permits now)and this will damage the air quality of the area during demolition, remove a vestige of our historic rail past from a historic district, and destroy natural habitats that have been created since Conrail left the embankment to deteriorate. Thank you.
