Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to Jersey City historic districts, landmarks, neighborhoods, and families. The Embankment is literally in my back yard, and I'm concerned about the environmental issues inherent in demolishing such a large structure, especially one that had been used for industrial purposes. This will adversely affect the quality of life of not just us who call the Embankment our back yard, but everyone who lives in this neighborhood. From the dust and contaminants that will go into the air, to the impact on the city's already fragile flood drainage system, to the wildlife that take residence in the Embankment (including a pair of Northern Cardinals I've spotted living up there!), to the trucks that will need to come in to haul away the rubble, etc. I think I've made my point. Thank you for your time.
