As someone who has lived in this community and often spends time in the area of the Sixth Street Embankment, I would be nervous to see what demolition would bring to the area. The infrastructure already cannot support much of the waste water in this city, as demonstrated during storms. Without the buffer of the Embankment, thousands more gallons of waste and rainwater will cripple the decrepit system. This is on top of the fact of subjecting numerous historical districts to the noise, vibration and debris of demolition and heavy machinery as well as the loss of one of the few wild" spaces in the city. Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to Jersey City historic districts, landmarks, neighborhoods, and families."
