Please! Authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes Severe, Adverse Effects to my neighbors, my historic neighborhood, our historic landmarks and all JC historic districts! There are TOO MANY Children and Adults who I know who have asthma...I can't imagine how they can take anymore abuse from the terrible air quality and dust in this area, what with the Holland Tunnel, re-routing of traffic, all the construction going on here for years! I can't imagine the contaminants that will be released by the ridiculous idea of demolition! I can't imagine how homeowners can remain in their homes with a ridiculous and unnecessary demolition of a backbone of our community, one that helps with so much of the flooding issues they deal with each year. And a demolition would be ruinous to those homes that have the Embankment as their back yard wall!
