Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to Jersey City historic districts, landmarks, neighborhoods, and families. Living one house away from the embankment that spans from Jersey Ave to Marin Ave, destruction of this embankment would cause not only great disruption to our daily lives via large amount of noise and traffic, but severely lessen the air quality of the neighborhood, displace all the wildlife currently living in the embankment, and generally ruin a large cultural and aesthetic part of what makes living in this neighborhood so appealing. I’m also very concerned about flooding, as the embankment currently helps absorb some stormwater - flooding is already bad enough in this part of town.
