Please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)on Conrail's abandonment of the Harsimus Cove Stem embankment. Abandonment will lead straight to its demolition, which would significantly affect the quality of the human environment as well as local fauna, birds, bees, trees that help clean the air. The families of Jersey City are steeped in carbon monoxide and need more green space, not less, to counter this. More development is absolutely the wrong direction. However small the redevelopment of this site might seem to those on the outside, this downtown neighborhood is a small neighborhood in which development on such a scale squeezes our resources and infrastructure.
