On October 18, 2021, the City of Petaluma adopted resolution 2021-169 N.C.S. opposing coal transport by rail through the City of Petaluma. It is the City's understanding the North Coast Railroad Company, LLC submitted a letter opposing the abandonment exemption in Docket No. AB 1305X such that the Surface Transportation Board may consider allowing the transport of coal on this railway. For the reasons stated in the attached resolution, the City of Petaluma opposes consideration of coal transport by rail through its jurisdiction.
