My name is Michael Hawkins. The west bound alignment is a proposed railway route running through my land. While eminent domain is technically legal in the constitution it’s highly immoral to land grab a disabled veteran who served in Afghanistan’s property. I’ve lived in my truck and traveled for 9 years looking for a place to settle down and be left alone. I do not want to go back to living in a truck looking for another property. I also don’t want to settle for a small piece of my property listing to a train roll by and shaking the ground I stand on. While this railway is being labeled a common carrier route it’s really for the mine. 4 out of every 5 vehicles on rt 306 are either ore trucks or other support vehicles for the mine, so this is not a public use railway. It will be used by the mine more then they use the road. The preferred route stays on the mines property and the mine can use their land for what they want just as much I can use my land for what I want. The rest of the preferred route is on public land which does not belong to private property owners. This would be the least impactful route to the residents of Crescent Valley.
