As the Superintendent of Communnity High School District 94, I have serious safety concerns with the projected increase in rail activity this merger could present to our students, staff and families entering and leaving the grounds of our school district. The document recieved on August 19, 2026 presents a potential 100% increase in rail activty should this merger become realized. Projected impacted areas include the railroad immeditely to the west of our property and one block north. Overseeing a high school district of nearly 2,000 students and over 300 staff, not only will this potential merger impact arrival and departure for students and staff, but it will also increase the odds of expereinceing a safety incident invovlving rail activity. As such, and for these reasons, I am advocating for this merger to be reconsidered or, if possible, rerouted in order to avoid impacting the safety of our students and staff.
