I decline this proposal due to the health and safety of the residents and employees of the City of Forest Park. Majority of our patrons are senior citizens and kids. We have multiple schools and daycares, senior centers and housing. We also have many patrons throughout the city who have asthma and other major health issues. That said, it would be criminal to allow an increase in the amount of trains to commute through this city. We are a working class city with homes nearby the railroads as well which will also disrupt the functionality of not only our working class but also our future leaders. This mission request would impact this city negatively holistically. I foresee, for our residents and employees repercussions and not benefits shall this request be approved by the Surface Transportation Board. It should be seen as a criminal offense when the health and wellness of the city at large declines due to the approval of this request. What matters more, the people or the money; the people or an easier way to get hazardous chemicals across the borders of Forest Park, Georgia? The answer is in your hands.
