I strongly oppose the proposed railroad project that would cut through numerous private properties in the Burnet/Marble Falls areas in Texas, displacing families and disrupting communities—all to serve the interests of a single company. This project offers no clear public benefit and instead prioritizes corporate profit over the well-being and rights of local residents. The long-term environmental, economic, and emotional impact on affected landowners and communities cannot be justified by the limited scope of this development. Rail infrastructure should be built with the public good as its guiding principle, not at the expense of people's homes, livelihoods, and the landscapes they depend on. I urge the Surface Transportation Board to reject this proposal and stand with the communities who would bear the brunt of its consequences. Our homes and lands should not be sacrificed for private gain.
