Dear STB, My parents have lived at 7473 S Hwy 281 for decades and it’s been a part of my life since I was born. This project will hugely impact access to their home and its enjoyment therein. An Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared for the proposed new rail line through Burnet County because the rail line is a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of our human environment. Per 42 U.S.C. 4331(a), Section 102 of NEPA, the Office of Environmental Analysis on behalf of the Surface Transportation Board is required to perform an Environmental Impact Statement to address: - Environmental impact of the proposed action: Including, but not limited to Red Tail Hawks that nest on the right of way (protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act), air and noise pollution from open-air aggregate cars adjacent to our family home, disturbance to the abundant wildlife on the ranch and destruction of historical structures. - any adverse effects that cannot be avoided - alternatives to the proposed action Please deny the 6-month pre-filling waiver and require the most comprehensive environmental surveys possible. Thank you for your time.
