I would vehemently OPPOSE the Texas Materials project. While an initial report filed by CRH stated that the area for the proposed project was dry, arid land; it is in fact fertile grassland supporting cattle, sheep, goat and wildlife ranches. It further supports ranchers in the area by providing hay and other crops to maintain this lfe style. This project is in fact being projected in an area that is conidered s 100 year flood plain. There are numerous artesian wells in the area along with a free flowing swimming pool, seasonal seeps and wetlands. The initial report was FALSE!!! I consider this project DANGEROUS, INTRUSIVE and DESTRUCTIVE, DANGEROUS because of the project's abiity to create fires in the hay fields and grasslands with would be difficult for fire fighters to reach and more hazardous due to frequent wind conditions. DANGEROUS because it has the capability to contaminate thousands of Texas citizens water supply. DANGEROUS due to the traffic conditions it would create as it will be crossing two major US highways. INTRUSIVE because it would immediately effect the Central US Flyway for numerous bird species (hummingbird, Indigo Painted Buntings, Purple Martins to name a few). INTRUSIVE and DESTRUCTIVE to wild life habitats such as caves, trees and water sources for endangered species such as the Bald Eagles ad Golden Warbles. DESTRUCTIVE to cultural landmarks such as the Old Stagecoach Road, the site of an Old Texas Feud Battle Branch , the Thornal Cementary and an archeological dig of Texas Indian middens date back to 8500. Finally I OPPOSE this project because I am currently under contract with the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service for land conservation. The proposed project FD_36815 is in direct OPPOSITION to this conservation contractl
