Our family-owned property has served as our home for 45 years and we would like to keep it that way for future generations. The impending railroad project wants to come within 100 yards of our historic home and would cut our property in half. The current railroad map has mislabeled our home as a farm building instead of a family home. Our only hay producing field will be lost by the dissection of the railroad. Our property is a habitat for the Golden Cheek Warbler, an endangered species, along with numerous other types of wildlife. The construction of the rail line could have adverse effects on Mesquite Creek that runs through our property, which can affect the quality of the drinking water for communities who receive their water from Stillhouse Lake.
