Impact statement: Re: \"Reinstate service\" railroad tracks - how long ago did the areas have track removed/cut service? 80 - 90 years ago? It was long gone when my parents bought our property almost 50 years ago. Since then, there are more people who live on Greer Lane, including my family and my brother\'s family. Others out here now have familiies who have built our here.The same with the other areas, a lot more people are affected, things are not the same as when the tracks were here a hundred years ago! Railroads do block roads, besides the fact that we can\'t get in or out, emergency vehicles would be seriously delayed. Also, with the serious drought, sparks from trains can and do cause fires. This has so many negative affects to many people, the new train track (for 1 business) is not a good idea, there must be something else they can do. No benefit for anybody in the affected counties.
