Morning, I can\'t even believe that this is even under question on whether this is a beneficial \"common carrier,\" when other companies have to pay a tax to use their rail line. How about let the landowners who might have land taken away and property values crushed use this rail line for their benefit too, just like a multi-billion dollar IRISH company. So Un-American and sickening. Environmental concerns are ample #1. I work in construction so I see first hand how much water quarries use to wash their product and cultivate it. They wash and screen to get dirt off the aggregate so they can sell more product w/o excess dirt weight. Also, water is used for the dust control. But hey, a billion dollar company can use all the water they want in a Stage #4 drought restricted area #2. Possible wildfires from train sparks. Between Burnet & Lampasas this is rural land, in turn no public FD, their is only a Lake Victor Volunteer Fire Dept. Enough said there #3. All of the species depleted from this. This area is a big migratory bird habitat, yes I have seen with my own eyes countless Bald Eagles and some Whooping Cranes. #4. After the RR is built who compensates the land owners when the RR berm impervious cover gets rained and and the run-off erodes peoples\' land not in the ROW #5. I could go all day on this and not trying to be rude but I have family members who are buried on my land, so this is a threat to me and my family that I won\'t back down from, and the fact that this was done backdoor and landowners had to due their on digging in find this out pisses me off to no end. This international billion dollar company wants to build a RR without working with landowners is sickening. They could care less about what it does to the habitat, if they did they might of spoken to land owners before fillings. People around here a great hard working honest people whom has lived here for generations and they were left in the dark. Money talks I guess...
