I am a proud fourth-generation descendant of the Alexander-Snell family and our family has owned land in the Lampasas and Burnet counties since as early as 1849! This proposed plan would directly impact our beautiful, pristine properties our family has meticulously cared for and tended to for the last 176 years. Our family has created and maintained a sanctuary on our private properties for the thriving wildlife and native plants while also consciously and conservatively utilizing our land for hunting, ranching, and farming for generations. Our family has been exemplary stewards of the land for many generations in the past and will continue to do so for many to follow. This railway would be absolutely devastating to our family, and the environment. While I care deeply for the impact this proposed plan would have on the community as whole, I do want to note some specific causes of concern regarding our properties specifically with more details in the attached document below. Please see the photo from our family homestead and consider the beauty and the devastation it would be for a railway to run along it.
