The proposed routes go through numerous plowed fields and working ranches that supply grains, beef, and game hunting that contribute greatly to the local economy. These ranches and plots of land will be irreversibly damaged, taking away valuable, tilled land from the owner/operators for use of sales and sustenance for their herds. The proposed route running through our families property will go directly through the middle of a 100 year old pecan grove. The planned route is also with in 50 yards of the dwelling on the property. The route also follows the route of Mesquite Creek, which contain numerous fresh springs that provide water for the various wildlife and livestock herds that reside on ranches and farms in the proposed rail routing. Surely there are existing easements from previous lines that better suite this proposed railway. Review the route and notice how much fertile land for growing crops will be affected by these proposed route. Central Texas Land is extremely rocky. Loosing this land cannot be replaced by plowing somewhere else. A train line can be built in rocky terrain. Yes, it costs more, but crops cannot be grown in the rocks where a train line can go. Don\'t let a cheaper train route derail those that can replace the use of the land elsewhere.
