Adding a railroad will affect the environment around that area. Upon further research, I have come across information stating that there will be a hazmat emergency drip pit. It being a flood zone, it could potentially flow into the Rio Grande, which is used as our drinking water. Not only will many homes will be removed, homes that many people have worked many years off to pay, it will also affect businesses around. The construction will cause air pollution, not only from commercial vehicles, but also from the railroad.
