I am reaching out due to concerns over the proposed construction and operation exemption the Green Eagle Railroad in Maverick County, Texas. I firmly believe that economic growth shouldn't come at the cost of the the health of citizens , nor should it create more environmental harm. Moreover the amount of citizens that would be displaced is disheartening. With the affordable housing being a mere pipe dream for the vast majority of people, it is highly unlikely that the compensation they receive will be enough to aid them in their endeavors to rehome. There is also the concern of the local ecosystem being further disrupted , and the high risk of contaminating the local water supply . Furthermore there's also the concern of the proximity of the current planned track to a school which poses a health risk to the children, employees, and the residents of the nearby area.
