Comment EI-33374

Received or sent (printed as 2/5/2024)

My home is situated less than a mile away from the industrial area. While the Draft EA discusses various potential environmental consequences, it fails to ensure that the environmental impact will be limited to the Brookhaven ash and C&D debris. The freight line, especially with the capacity of 27 cars and one inbound and one outbound train a day, opens the opportunity for an increase in industrial activity and additional environmental risks that go beyond the current proposed action. Since the Draft EA is only assessing the current proposed action, it is limited in its scope since the freight line infrastructure, once constructed, would allow the existence of additional uses. For the environmental and human health of this community, I request that the environmental assessment take into account the additional risks that would occur with the construction of a freight line in proximity to a residential area.
