I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed construction of a train yard in our community. As a concerned resident, I am deeply troubled by the potential environmental risks and impacts associated with this project, as well as its detrimental effects on our quality of life and property values. First and foremost, the contamination of well water is a significant concern. The construction and operation of a train yard could introduce hazardous chemicals and pollutants into our groundwater, jeopardizing the health and safety of our families. We cannot afford to compromise our access to clean and safe drinking water for the sake of corporate profit. Furthermore, the increased trucking and train activity resulting from the train yard will inevitably lead to excessive noise and air pollution, disrupting the peaceful atmosphere of our community. The incessant rumbling of trains and the emissions from diesel engines will not only degrade our environment but also pose serious health risks to residents, particularly children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions. Additionally, the construction of a train yard in our vicinity will undoubtedly have a negative impact on property values for surrounding homes. Potential buyers will be deterred by the noise, pollution, and potential environmental hazards associated with living near such industrial facilities. This will not only harm current homeowners but also diminish the overall economic vitality of our community. It is unacceptable that the interests of a private company are being prioritized over the well-being of tax-paying citizens. We urge you to listen to the concerns of the community and reject the proposal for the train yard. Instead, we implore you to explore alternative, more sustainable development options that will preserve our environment, safeguard public health, and uphold the value of our homes Thank you for considering our concerns and taking decisive action to protect our community
