Comment EI-33320

Received or sent (printed as 2/2/2024)

(1) A recharge basin filtering water for Long Island’s only water supply (underground aquifer) stands about thirty feet from the proposed site. (2) The population of Long Island stands to be poisoned by the toxic garbage ash contamination of the water supply. (3) Agencies have not conducted a complete environmental impact study. (4) Private family homes also exist only yards away from this poisonous pit of garbage ash, dust, dirt, diesel fuel stench, intolerable noise, and artificial light. (5) Thousands of other homes are less than a mile away. (6) The North Ridge Elementary School lies within walking distance of the project’s site. (7) The neighboring communities already suffer from statistically significant increases in childhood leukemia, and the area is already overburdened with a garbage recycling plant.
