The economy of the Uintah Basin is driven by the production of the oil and natural gas fields in this region.... If this project will increase production by expanding the markets to which the oil can be sold, then this should also create more jobs for the residents of the basin. I'm all for it. Also if this rail system will bring down the costs of getting freight to the basin, Such as groceries and gasoline, this would be good for all. Those of us who struggle to pay the bills every month might be able to live a little more comfortable in our lives. The cost of living is constantly rising and wages are not. Lower costs and better jobs would not be a bad thing for us. As far as environmental concerns, the last time I looked, sagebrush is not in danger of being eradicated..... there's plenty of it around the area. The inoment domain issue can be solved if the rail is kept on BLM lands, which there is plenty of that also.
