RE: Environmental Filing, DOCKET No. FD 36284 We moved to the Uintah Basin in 1984. We have riden out each boom and bust. Neither my husband or I work in the oil industry, nor do any of our 4 married children who have been able to return to the area after college and medical school for one. They have lived all over the United States but returned to this area to raise their families. I came here as a city girl (from Denver) kicking and screaming. Now I would not want to live anywhere else. Well, okay, almost. For decades we have known how important a rail line would be for our area but never imagined it could be feasible. Until now. The proposed railroad is the only way the Uintah Basin can become competitive is to have a rail line in order to transport not only our crude, but agricultural products and limber, as well as import. As regular, rank and file residents we are aware of the tremendous value this proposed project holds for our area. This is a win-win-WIN for our economic development and survival. We have the utmost faith and confidence in the local leadership supporting this and working towards this and thank them for their efforts. We urge the Powers That Be to move forward in approving the Uinta Basin Railroad. Sincerely, Dr. Blaine and Lezlee Whiting Roosevelt, Utah
