Comment EI-30322

Received or sent (printed as 8/30/2019)

To Whom it May Concern: Our family owns 10 acres of recreational property at or near the indicated location in Section 14, Township 11 South, Range 10 East, SLM and 20 acres in Section 12 of the same Township about 0.5 to 0.65 miles North-Northeast along Hwy 191 from the marked location. We also own 60 acres of recreational property about 2.5 miles SE of the marked location. I am a petroleum landman and have been engaged in the oil & gas industry since 2005. While the 90 acres of undeveloped recreational property is an asset to our family and a tranquil place away from daily concerns and traffic, it is remote, barren, and mostly unusable for recreational purposes due to the steep grade pervasive on all of the parcels, with the exception of a few very small areas and sheds that have been constructed on the properties. It is of greater value as grazing land and not likely in any event to be negatively impacted by the proposed railroad, being about 1 mile away at the closest points. We'd like to see the railroad have its best chances at being approved and constructed because it would benefit the larger communities of Duchesne and Uintah Counties. We feel that the impact to us, our property, and its use will be negligible compared to the benefit to the local economy, and the oil & gas industry. Please keep me informed about the ongoing developments of the EIS and the proposed rialroad. -Ryan Fairbanks, Co-Guardian for Richard Fairbanks and Petroleum Landman
