It's time to diversify the economy of the Basin. I grew up in Ely, Nevada and spent 28 years of my life there. It was 4 hours from any city in any direction, and it is a dead desolate small town because the people who had the ability to bring in things to attract a population didn't want any of the opportunities. They turned away an interstate highway and a Levi's factory and coke bottling plant all because they didn't like change. The Uintah Basin is going to die a similar sort of death if it doe not diversify its industries and adapt.
