We are in strong opposition to the Uinta Basin railroad passing through the Argyle Canyon area. We are owners of a cabin on 10 acres in the area of the proposed railway. I feel the railroad will cause many hazards to our home and property, we are just recovering from a forest fire that caused a great deal of loss and damage, a railroad would be a strong fire danger with sparks that could cause another devastating and costly fire. The environmental impacts are also a great concern with the possibility of oil leaks and derailment concerns that could damage our delicate springs that we have as a current water source, also the tunneling used to construct the railroad will affect the water flow of these springs. Also the sound emissions from this railroad will taint the peaceful wilderness that we live in. Additionally as a taxpayer for Duchesne county I am deeply concerned that the burden of the cost of this railroad will burden us for decades to pay for its construction and for maintaining the railroad after the big money railroad companies and oil companies have came and gone! I am also greatly disappointed with our elected offic6who have wasted millions of taxpayer dollars to study and evaluate this railroad that has already shown in past studies as being a failure due to the grade and steepness of terrain of this route. Many homes and residents will be affected negatively by this railroad route which is being pushed through our community, when there are better alternate routes that would not bully the private land owners and have been suggested but seem to fall on deaf ears. I implore you to please listen to our legitimate concerns and put a stop to this route that has been chosen through Argyle Canyon, Sincerely, Shawn Harding
