I think this is a great idea!! Putting in a railroad will be helpful for the environment, because every time i've driven that stretch of road I see a ton of Semi trucks hauling, and it really slows down traffic and causes a lot of driving hazard. This also means more idle time on the roads burning gas and putting carbon in our atmosphere. I think especially the Indian canyon route looks like it would bypass alot of this bad traffic.
