I am concerned about the loss of farm and ranch ground that may be in the direct path of the construction of the rail line. While I support the construction and usage and the obvious benefit of the rail line, please utilize caution in where specifically the rail and supporting infrastructure may be located in relationship to farm and ranch properties. Please involve those landowners in the decision making process of where to locate the facilities that do not affect the overall operation of farms and ranches. With an ever increasing world population, and the United States of America essentially feeding the world, it is imperative that there is no net loss of farm and ranch ground. For your information, according to the latest farm census (2018) the United States of America farmers and ranchers feed 166 people worldwide. Please reach out to farm and ranch non governmental organizations (NGO's) in the development of this rail to receive their input as well. These groups (such as Utah Farm Bureau, Utah Cattleman's Association, and the local county Cattleman's Associations) may provide valuable insight in the development process of the proposed rail. Please also reach out to local governments including state, county, tribal, and city as well to receive their input. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
