Comment EI-30180

Received or sent (printed as 8/30/2019)

On behalf of Blue Diamond Capital I would like to submit a comment of support for the Craig Route of the Uinta Basin Railway. Blue Diamond Capital is owned by Marc Bingham who was born in the Uinta Basin and he still has his home and considerable property holdings in the Vernal area. Our support for this project is based on the following: 1. This will increase the flow of oil out of the Uinta Basin on a train and reduce many of the tens of thousands of semi trucks that travel out of the basin to the Salt Lake Valley every year on public roadways. This will help with air quality, safety for travelers on I-40, and reduce the amount of necessary road maintenance on I-40 and local roads. 2. It will increase and keep jobs in rural Utah that is slowly contracting as urbanization increases along the Wasatch Front of the Salt Lake Valley. Keeping more jobs spread around the state reduces the demand on water and resources in the Salt Lake Valley. 3. This train system can be built to run efficiently and in a safe manner to have minimal impacts on the surrounding environment and wildlife. Thanks you for your support of this important and needed project.
