It seems to me that a railroad is needed to move crude oil from the Uintah Basin base to major markets. Local oil companies feel they can increase production as they now understand the geology of the resource. As Salt Lake refineries can no longer increase production, new markets need to be accessed. The railroad routes that are being considered would provide this access. If the Basin is to grow economically, the rail proposal is the best option. Any of the three would work. A secondary benefit is that the rail line would take some of the heavy truck traffic off of Highway 40
