I am against this project. This project would reinforce gas and oil development and will cost residents and taxpayers money that should be allocated for sustainable, less intrusive development. I am a newer resident of Utah, and this troubles me. Often citizens are promised jobs and economic prosperity, but the jobs created by this project will be transient, and the employees recruited will likely be men whose families and interests lay outside the state - where they will continue to reside with families, and send their earnings. We should be focused on projects that encourage solar and other renewable resource for the long-term environmental and health concerns of area residents. Health concerns besides increased asthma and other air quality and drinking water concerns (spills are inevitable), include the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and other maladies brought into the state. Utah is beautiful and has amazing natural features, and we should practice good stewardship of the lands. This is expensive, unnecessary, and out of line with the long-term well being of Utah, for our grandchildren.
