I oppose the construction of the railway based on environmental concerns. We live in a desert and water is extremely scarce. We do not need to tax our water use in order to create a railway that will increase oil production. The planet also cannot withstand the resulting four-fold increase in air pollution. We need to be developing renewable resources.
